Howie Tse has been a firefighter for over 13 years
He has been involved in a wide range of athletics and fitness for the majority of his life, from being a player, coach, and trainer. Howie found Lili Viola Pilates in 2016 and noticed that his chronic lower back pain had all but disappeared after a couple months of Pilates. He's been hooked ever since.
He completed his 600-hour apprenticeship at Lili Viola Pilates under the direction of 2nd generation teacher Chris Robinson and 3rd generation teacher Lili Viola. Howie is a Certified Authentic Pilates Teacher.
When not firefighting or at Lili viola Pilates, Howie can be found golfing or surfing.
Then 3 months after starting the program, he reported he had no more back pain.
I've never really used my core that much. I guess what I thought was sit ups and stuff like that, it didn't help. But with the Pilates- the lengthening, the strengthening of the Pilates House, I wasn't hunched over as much. I started coming almost every day that I was off from that point on. I just noticed the core getting stronger.
Especially with the Teacher Training Program, I've noticed my job has become easier because I'm using the lessons I've learned from the program and from Pilates. We have to climb the stairs for high rise calls with the extra 105 LBs on our body, you know, it gets heavy so you kind of start slouching. But I noticed when I kinda used my core a lot, it just became a lot easier to do a lot of the work...
