Based on the vision to create Hong Kong’s first “Home of Intelligent Movement,” Flex opened in 2005. The studio pioneered the integration of mind-body disciplines in HK, offering a combination of Pilates and yoga suitable for all demographics, with two successful locations operating in both the south side, and Central Business District. In 2015, Flex’ focus narrowed to the transformative system of Classical Pilates; subsequently, it was the first studio to bring the system of Classical Pilates, including the Apparatus and later, Teacher Training to Hong Kong.
Today, Flex is Hong Kong’s largest and most prestigious Classical Pilates studio, and serves as the Asia hub for Classical Pilates Teacher Training offered in partnership with Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates in New York.

| Heather Thomas and Anna Serafinas Luk are the founders of Flex Studio, leading a team of over 40 staff. The “Flex Family” comprises 10 full time and 20 part-time instructors from around the world, including the USA, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Argentina, South Africa, the Philippines and South Korea. Teaching instruction is offered in five languages: Cantonese, English, Mandarin, Korean and Spanish. The average teaching experience of Flex’s Senior Instructors is 10 years; apprentices 1-2 years. The Front Desk happily greets clients in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. |
Heather Thomas, Founder and Director
Always a movement enthusiast with a mind for business, Heather studied ballet and yoga intensively before obtaining her first full Pilates studio certification in 2003; she later opened Flex Studio in January of 2005. With Heather’s growth as an instructor, and deeper knowledge of the Classical system, she embarked on the study of traditional and Classical Pilates with Benjamin Degenhardt’s 360°Pilates, and later, certified 3rd generation Classical instructor with Real Pilates from NY. Her vision for, and execution of Flex’s APAC growth stems from her years spent in the corporate world at companies including The Walt Disney Company and Chase Manhattan Bank. Anna Serafinas Luk, Director
Anna Serafinas Luk graduated from London’s Rambert School of Ballet before dancing as a soloist with the Essen Ballet Company, Germany and later with the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich. In 1987, she obtained her diploma in dance education with distinction from the Royal Academy of Dance in London and lectured at various performing arts schools in the United Kingdom before settling in Hong Kong in 1991. Anna’s love of Pilates stems from her early introduction to the method in London as a dance student, hence her partnership with Heather in the establishment of Flex in 2005. Currently, she is a 3rd generation, classically trained Pilates Instructor certified with REAL Pilates NYC. Read more
