We bring to you the New York Tradition of Pilates, signifying classical Pilates according to Joseph Pilates himself, utilizing solely Gratz Equipment.
Apart from instructing all our lovely clients, we offer internships, coaching, and workshops, along with two different training programs: “Pilates Mat Trainer” and “Pilates Mat and Apparatus Trainer,” all conducted in English. We are an official teacher training institute in Germany affiliated with the “Deutsche Pilates Verband.”
The programs are led by Galina Rohleder, a second-generation trainer, along with her Pilates Studio team. The objective is to help every student achieve a profound understanding of how to approach the Pilates method classically, resulting in becoming a highly skilled Pilates trainer. PEOPLE
Galina Rohleder has been teaching classical Pilates for over 20 years. In the early 1990s, she relocated to New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts and worked with numerous modern dance companies and musical shows. During a one-year stay in Asia, she delved into the study of Chinese dance, Tai-Chi, and choreography. As a trained dancer, she contributed her skills to institutions such as the Theater des Westens.
Ms. Rohleder first encountered Pilates during her time in New York. While at the original New York City studio, she had the good fortune and privilege to meet Romana Kryzanowska and personally learn from her for many years. Ms. Rohleder completed her training with Romana, earning her the designation of a "second-generation teacher" and the honor of receiving the original certificate as a trainer of the "Pilates Method of Body Conditioning."
In 1998, she returned from New York to Berlin and established the city's first Pilates studio. She served as a Pilates trainer for the Staatstheater Kassel and the Tanztheater of the German National Theater Weimar, among others. After a decade of teaching in Germany, she took a yearlong maternity leave in 2008. To this day, Ms. Rohleder teaches at her studio, collaborating with various companies and institutions such as SAP and the Tanzfabrik Potsdam. Additionally, she continues to expand her knowledge, exploring other forms of bodywork, including Feldenkrais, the Susan Klein Technique, and general anatomy.
