STUDIO
For the past twelve years, The Pilates Loft had one location in the heart of Orlando, Florida. Owner Jennifer O’Mara opened the studio in 2003 and it quickly became one of the premier Pilates studio in Central Florida. Jennifer’s background is firmly placed in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Physical Therapy. She studied Pilates under and was certified by Romana Kyrzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé, in 2000. Jennifer always wanted to own her own business and opening a pilates studio fulfilled not only her entrepreneurial spirit but also her desire to help people achieve a higher level of health and wellness. The Pilates Loft Orlando was named a Certifying Center for the United States Pilates Association (USPA) and Jennifer a Teacher of Teachers.
PEOPLE
In 2014, The Pilates Loft opened their second location in Arlington, Virginia. Under the leadership of Alia Staples, the Arlington location also serves as a Certifying Center for the USPA. Both locations are proud to train Apprentices that will be the next generation of Certified Pilates Instructors to carry on Joseph Pilates’ work in it’s purest form.
Our Orlando studio will be moving to a different location over the summer and expanding class schedules. Lots of work there! Our instructors are very involved and connected to the fitness community from running marathons to competing in state wide tennis competitions. We are currently working with professional golfers and basketball players to help them achieve a higher level of fitness and competition.
EQUIPMENT
Since opening our doors in 2003, The Pilates Loft has used exclusively Gratz Pilates Equipment. Working under Romana, there was no other option but to use Gratz. The incredibly accurate measurements of the equipment in comparison to the body is unmatched, we can put a 5’0 woman and a 6’9 basketball player on a reformer and get the same results.
