June Hines Pilates

STUDIO

June Hines Pilates opened in 1997 in Rydal, PA, a nothern suburb of Philadelphia. June Hines was trained in NYC by Joseph Pilates disciple Romana Kryzanowska and her daughter Sari Mejia Santo exclusively on Gratz equipment. To get the Rydal studio started, June’s first purchases were 3 trusted pieces of Gratz equipment, a Reformer, Cadillac and High Mat. Today the studio is fully staffed and equipped with all Gratz apparatus, large to small. As the studio has grown, Gratz has been there every step of the way.

In 2006, Susan Wilson and June opened a second location of June Hines Pilates in Doylestown, PA, 30 miles nother of Philadelphia. Today June Hines Pilates has 7 teachers and 3 apprentices all certified through the rigorous training of Romana’s Pilates and focused on carrying forward the proven timeless and effective teachings of Joseph Pilates as taught to us by Romana. June Hines Pilates uses Gratz apparatus exclusively because it too is timeless and effective.

PEOPLE

June Hines was first introduced to Pilates as a part of her dance training at the University of Oklahoma by Yvonne Chouteau. After receiving her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Dance, teaching 11 years as an Associate Professor of Dance in 2 different liberal arts schools in PA, June met Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia Santo and became certified in 1996. Moving to Pennsylvania shortly after the birth of her son, June began teaching within her own studio in Rydal and as the director of The Pilates Studio at the Pennsylvania Ballet, acting as a Philadelphia training center for 7 years.

June Hines joined Romana’s Pilates in 2003, where to this day she is supporting their program as a level III teacher trainer and instructor. In 2006, June and Susan opened the doors to the Doylestown studio and have since added Barbara Yeager-Conforti, Greg Elwell, June Hudson, Jennifer DiNardo, and Sharon Michels to their faculty. 

At June Hines Pilates each student’s session is customized to fit their needs and goals, challenging them while keeping their study of Pilates safe. Gratz gives the staff at June Hines Pilates the confidence that only comes from trusted equipment. Reliable performance is the standard that comes with Gratz reformers, Cadillac, chairs, barrels, tower units and mats.

Gratz equipment is built to last. Since 1997, June Hines Pilates have put the complete system of apparatus designed by Joseph Pilates and made by Gratz to the test. It’s in a class by itself. Gratz is trusted because it holds up to support, cradle, and assist clients in over 400 sessions per month to become longer, leaner and stronger while being the foundation for a safe secure teaching environment. June Hines is proud to use Gratz exclusively and recommends Gratz for their students that have chosen to equip their homes with full studios.
