"I feel the springs and proportion, the way that Gratz is built is a big difference."
- Orly Oren, Owner & Instructor
Orly Oren's studio in Israel and since its' establishment in 2008 by Orly Oren it has been fully equipped with Gratz. Orly's students are men and women between the ages of 16 and 75 in various skill levels and health conditions. Many of her advanced students today came with acute health problems - postural disorders, pains and orthopedic injuries. But once they started working with Gratz Pilates equipment they saw their condition improve.
Instructor Orly Oren was a dancer who wanted to broaden her professional opportunities and decided to attend the Winggaite Institute for Athletic Studios. Once she graduated in 1998 she started working in a physio-Pilates institute that specialized in dancer injuries, up until that point she had only heard of Pilates. Once she began learning about Pilates through practice it was a revelation for her and her career. In 2001, she developed Pilates instructional courses of which included her knowledge of anatomy into easy to follow exercises that became a big success. Despite her success she wanted to discover more about Pilates, she was to lead the Polestar Pilates conference where she first heard of the PMA conferences which only fed her hunger to learn. She began to study under Kathy Grant in Romana's studio and Dr. Brent Anderson in the Polestar Pilates studio every 3-4 months for 1-2 weeks at a time enriching her knowledge. In 2008, she went out on her own and established the classical Pilates studio: under her name Orly Oren. Two of her instructors were previously her students, Eran, a dancer who came to her studio with postural disorders, and Lirone, with a dislocated should and now teaches most of the French speaking cliental.
Orly has traveled between many studios and experienced different kinds of manufacturers but found that only Gratz supports the original classical method of Pilates. She feels the springs, the proportion, and the way Gratz is built is where your body reaps the benefits of the original Pilates design.
