ALS ASSOCIATION GOLDEN WEST CHAPTER'S VIRTUAL WALK TO DEFEAT ALS
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1st — 9:00 am to 2:30 pm9:00 AM PST — Team Winsor Pilates Breakout Room Opens9:30 AM PST — Pre-Event Concert. Performances by The Coolies, Groovie Ghoulies, Redd Kross, Cub, honeychain and many more in memory of singer/songwriter, Kim Shattuck (Team Shattuck).10:30 AM PST — Zoom Start Line Festivities to you. A celebration of walk participants and families, inspirational speakers, performance by the USC Marching Band, and a warm-up by Team Winsor Pilates’ Saul Choza (Choza Winsor Pilates) to help you start your day!11:15 AM PST — WALK YOUR WAY! - Participate however YOU want! Go for a walk in your house, yard or neighborhood; hike; hop on your treadmill -- get creative and HAVE FUN! No matter what you choose to do to participate this year, please be safe and abide by the recommendations from the CDC. As you participate in Walk Day your way this Sunday, November 1, please take a photo or video of you enjoying your activity of choice! About Mari Winsor
Mari Winsor, an internationally renowned fitness legend who was widely credited with popularizing Pilates and making this once obscure workout accessible to the public, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family and close friends on Tuesday, April 28, at the age of 70. She had been living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) since 2013. Winsor is survived by her husband Elliot Nachbar, a retired Local 80 Grip Union, two sisters Phyllis Mazure and Gwenn Smookler of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
