All M.A.T. Pilates graduates are required to attend at least one CPE seminar each year in order to maintain their certification. M.A.T. Pilates continuing education is offered at Metropolitan Pilates, Urban Pilates, and The Pilates Center of San Francisco.
Continuing Education is offered year round by Dorothee VandeWalle. Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced workshops are offered each year as well as guest teacher seminars.
This workshop focuses on the techniques of the intermediate system and how to progress clients from basic to intermediate exercises. Once your clients have a strong basic foundation, they're ready to start moving in a more elaborate way. The intermediate system is the next step. It is a vast system that benefits the majority of one's clients.
This workshop is a great course for Pilates teachers who are ready to take their clients to the next level and want a refresher on how to progress them through the continuum of exercises.
This workshop is open to instructors certified by M.A.T. Pilates and Romana's Pilates. Teachers who are certified by other organizations must take the Basic System Workshop as a pre-requisite to register for the Intermediate System Workshop.
Martt Lawrence is a M.A.T. Pilates level 2 teacher trainer. She is certified on the Basic and Intermediate Systems and has been preparing apprentices for full certification since 2008. Martt has been teaching Pilates for almost two decades and has worked with dancers, athletes, and students of varying injuries.
Martt opened her studio, The Pilates Center of San Francisco, in January 2006. Originally certified in 1996, Martt was re-certified in December of 2005 by Dorothee VandeWalle at Metropolitan Pilates. Prior to opening the Pilates Center of San Francisco, Martt was the Pilates instructor at The San Francisco Ballet for five years. She draws from her experience as a former professional dancer with the Houston and Cincinnati Ballet companies as well as a modern dancer and choreographer.
Gratz Featured Studio
Located inside the beautiful ODC Dance Commons, The Pilates Center of San Francisco (PCSF) serves the Mission district of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Area at large with its diverse population of dancers, art lovers, and families.
The Pilates Center of San Francisco was opened in January of 2006 when owner Martt Lawrence seized an opportunity to make an impact on the dance community she knew and loved. After instructing the dancers at the San Francisco Ballet for five years, she was chosen by Brenda Way at ODC to run her own studio inside the commons.
