Pilates and Sports
We all do pilates, but do we use it outside the studio. This workshop shows how to apply the Pilates Method to enhance the four basic athletic movements in sports (push, pull, run and jump) using the Mat, the Reformer, and Chairs. This class will focus on work done after the systems using the different apparatus. 

The Classical Reformer
Joe Pilates' original order and the reasons why. The advanced Reformer workout will help understand how to find the connection of your upper and lower body to the back. Also show you the progression of the exercises. (from supported to challenging to defying)

The Strong Mat
Take your Mat class to the next level and feel the pilates method work as a true conditioning modality of exercise. Build stretch, muscular endurance and power with the advance Mat with variations and Joe’s calisthenics at the end.

All Chair
From Joe Pilates' most advanced apparatus, the Wunda Chair. To the stability and support of the Electric and Baby Chair. Learn to lengthen and strengthen your Spine.

Extras
This workshop covers how to get the most out of the Neck Stretcher, Toes Exerciser, Bean Bag Roll Up device, Magic Circle, Push Up Bars and Breath-A-Cizer.

About Chris Robinson

Chris Robinson brings great passion and an endless energy for Pilates. Chris was inspired and Certified by Pilates legend Romana Kryzanowska, whom he directly apprenticed with more than 15 years ago. He continues his Pilates education with Master Instructor Jay Grimes, who was also a student of Joseph Pilates. His love for fitness and top level professional experience as a purist in The Pilates Method has garnered clients of all levels including professional athletes, private clients, teachers, apprentices and even Oprah Winfrey, for whom he acted as her personal core coach.

Chris is the author of “The Core Connection” and creator of The S6 Fitness Program based in San Diego, California. His work is in high demand as he travels the world sharing his elite skills in The Pilates Method. He is also a two-time Muay Thai Kickboxing Champion and International Fitness Expert with disciplines in Bulgarian Bags, Sprinting, and Functional Traditional Training.

Chris was a collegiate track and field athlete at San Diego State University, where he earned a degree in kinesiology and he has since lived every day in constant pursuit of peak performance. The Houston native has owned and operated three fitness centers and currently owns The S6 Fitness Center in San Diego. A lifelong athlete and fighter, Chris continues his many years of training with the legendary Saekson Janjira, a Master Muay Thai Teacher. He is a Certified Bulgarian Bags Instructor, and a student of the Inventor of Bulgarian Bags, Ivan Ivanov.

As a purist in Pilates, he is inspired and driven to teach The Method the way Joe intended.

About Moses Urbano

Moses Urbano is a world-renowned Pilates Instructor and Trainer for “Romana’s Pilates,” who works with private clients, professional athletes, student apprentices, and other Pilates teachers since he completed his certification in 1999 under the direction of Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio of New York.

Moses was a dedicated student of leading Pilates disciple Romana, and had the great privilege of assisting her on teaching tours throughout the United States and Internationally. He consulted for Stamina Products at “Super Shows” and on QVC, taught for GAIAM Pilates, has been featured in San Diego Magazine, Majestic Living, PilatesStyle, IDEA Fitness Journal, and various international publications and appears as a featured performer in “Romana on Pilates-The Legacy Edition.”

Known for his dynamic and hands-on Pilates teaching style, Moses currently works at S6 Fitness and other studios in San Diego and Los Angeles. He keeps his own practice on the cutting edge by remaining forever a student, studying with his fellow teachers and Instructor trainers at Romana’s Pilates.
